MAQNIFY Guide
Nagold town council
Development of a digital walking tour of the town including an audio guide of Nagold
May to July 2021
As a follow-up project to the audio tour of the Hohennagold castle ruins published in March of this year, MAQNIFY was also commissioned to design a digital tour of Nagold's historic old town.
Nagold presents itself with urban flair against a historical backdrop, framed by a varied natural environment. Nagold has a lot to offer: Historical traces, magnificent half-timbered houses, a church tower without a church, small alleyways, attractive shops and a wide range of restaurants make a stroll through the town a special experience. A walk up to the castle ruins of Hohennagold is rewarded with an enchanting atmosphere and a marvellous view.
With the new audio tour, visitors can now immerse themselves in Nagold's exciting history and fall under the spell of times long past - at their own pace.
In consultation between MAQNIFY and the city of Nagold with Sarah Leutner, head of the tourism department, and Annika Tittjung, employee in the tourism department, a total of 24 stations were set up through the historic city centre. Judith Bruckner, Chairwoman of the Association for Local History, wrote an exciting text with an English translation for each of the stations. MAQNIFY then created and set to music an entertaining audio programme. Impressive images from the past and present round off the tour and allow visitors to immerse themselves even more deeply in Nagold's captivating history.
Visitors can now scan QR codes, which are displayed on the pedestrian pillars in the city centre next to the "Historic City Tour" sign, to call up the relevant information on all the stations in German and English.
