Creation of a design concept for the visitor guidance system in Beilngries
Creation of a design concept for the visitor guidance system in Beilngries
The town of Beilngries is located in the centre of the Altmühltal Nature Park between Nuremberg and Regensburg. Back in 2020, the town commissioned the design of a new visitor guidance system for the old town area with the aim of creating clear orientation and comprehensible visitor guidance for out-of-town visitors and locals. The core elements of the system are information pillars with a city map at the entrances to the old town and at important junctions. The system is supplemented by standardised arrow signposts within the planning area.
TourComm was commissioned to create a suitable design concept based on the finalised planning specifications and to supervise the implementation of the project with a suitable signage partner.
Based on the city's corporate design manual, various designs were initially created for all signage elements for approval. This included the arrow signposts, information steles with integrated signposts and a city centre map adapted to the design of Beilngries.
After several internal rounds of voting, the final designs were selected and converted into print-ready files that were sent to the selected signage producers for further processing.
The installation and assembly was carried out by the municipal building yard.
