MAQNIFY
Development of a novel and interactive information service that makes trips on Baden‑Württemberg’s motorways more interesting
August 2018 to September 2019
Cities, sights, beautiful regions - the brown signs on our motorways draw our attention to them. But as soon as we drive past them, they are forgotten again. What is missing is informative content or entertaining stories that provide information, stay in our memory and perhaps even inspire us to take a detour.
The new "Experience Guide" app from MAQNIFY takes on this task - initially for all motorway information signs in Baden-Württemberg. The app offers users entertaining audio experiences and further information. The app enables participating partners to draw attention to the special features of their destination.
In Baden-Württemberg alone, there are over 200 motorway signs pointing out large and small towns, baroque castles, medieval castle ruins, nature parks or wine regions. The app provides detailed or short audio reports for all stations. If the app's live mode is activated, the corresponding audio clips are automatically played for the information boards along the route.
All stations presented in detail - so-called premium stations - are listed within an interactive overview map and in list view. By simply clicking on them, users can access additional text and images as well as practical links to websites or tourist information centres. They can also click to navigate directly to their destination via their navigation app.
The app also allows you to search for festivals, concerts, markets or festivals. Many premium locations have stored their annual event highlights here. The user can simply save the desired event dates in their personal calendar.
The content of the MAQNIFY Experience Guide is constantly being updated and expanded. The app is available free of charge in German and English for Android and iOS.
The experience guide is supported by Tourismus Marketing Baden-Württemberg (TMBW), Schwarzwald Tourismus, Schwäbische Alb Tourismusverband, Kraichgau-Stromberg Region, Westlicher Bodensee Region and Touristikgemeinschaft Hohenlohe, among others.
